A tribute to a Great People's Artist-Da Qi

Over half a century Da Qi has made outstanding contribution to the success of Chinese films. Many memorable characters played by Da Qi such as China National Hero General Ji Hongchang in film "Ji Hongchang", and Tang Jin Long in "Captive on the sea", have made him a household name, since then it has never faded even 55 years on.

Da Qi is a winner of Best Actor of China Academy Award-Hundred Flower Award, and many other International Awards, who has appeared in over 80 films/TVs, and is one of the most respected film pioneers in China film history, alive today.

Da Qi is China's Clint Eastwood, who has received formal and prestigious training of Stanislavski technique in the early 1950s in MOSCOW.
In 1956, Da Qi stared the leading role in the first colour feature film in China, and had Received Best Actor in Czechoslovak International Film Festival in 1958.

During the Cultural Revolution in China, Da Qi have been tortured and sent to Exile.

In 1980s, he became the CEO of China's State FUJIAN FILM GROUP CO. until 1997, and then he moved to Melbourne Australia.

Over the last 10 years, Da Qi has been working on many projects for one of the two Australia Government National Broadcasting Corporations- SBS (www.sbs.com.au) as a special guest producer.

Although Da Qi in his 70s but his love of film and passion about its future seems stronger then ever before. He has been working very long hours each day, traveling between cities and countries around the globe.

Da Qi also cares about food safety issue for the children of developing countries, as well as issues such as "global warming", water shortage ... He has written numerous articles, letters to government officials and urges them to workout the solutions.
