Autumn in August 2007,The National Movie Channel exclusively interviewed the People's Artists Daqi, for the "Film Memory" Archive Segment in Changchun Film Studio (Changchun Film Group Corporation) ?the birth place and cradle of Chinese film.
The interview has been aired by CCTV (China Central Television cctv.com) in Oct across the world.
There are two parts of this interview.
First part:Comprehensively summarized the early life of Daqi and his film career expending 5 decades from 1948 -1990s.
Second part: 1990-current, an informative coverage of Daqi's current life and his endeavour to bridge China and international film industry together.
In particular is talking about Daqi and young actor, producer Dion William Leech together with Senior Producer David Waddington and their two new co-production films "Imperishable Sydney" and "Dancing Beauty of Dunhuang"

After almost three years of formal negotiations, the Minister for the Arts and Sport, Senator George Brandis, today announced the signing of a film co-production agreement between Australia and China. The signing took place in the Australian Embassy in Beijing.
"Australian and Chinese filmmakers have a great history of working together on internationally renowned film projects such as Hero and House of Flying Daggers," Senator Brandis said. |

Producers of State Administration Radio, Film and TV (A National Government Department of People’s Republic of China) approved film " Dancing Beauty of Dunhuang" Mr. Dion William Leech and Mr. Da Qi have visited to FUJIAN NEW MOON ANLY ENTERTAINMENT CO.LTD on April 10th 2007.
Co-production partner State Fujian Film Studios Co. has officially entrusted the rights to the producers of "Dancing Beauty of Dunhuang" to conduct negotiations and fundraising for the film in China and aboard.
State Fujian Film Studios Co.'s CEO Mr. Zhan Jincan, Mr. Daqi,Dion William Leech and other high ranking officials held several detailed discussion on " Dancing Beauty of Dunhuang" in April 2007. Mr. Zhan is urging overseas' film companies to this joint venture. |

1. World First, Da Qi as the Artistic Director of the 100 episode Giant Puppet Animation TV series "Heroes in Qin and Han Dynasty" (100 episodes, each episode 20 minutes) has announced of completion of the project.
This series is so far the biggest original puppet animation masterpiece which have never been done anywhere in the world before. The post-production has completed in mid-April 2007.

The producers of the International Co-production 3D Animation Film tilted " MOON RAINBOW" Mr. David Waddington and his assistant Mr. Dion Leech are in consultation and negotiation with Fujian and with real possibility to take this project to China to complete production of the 3D film.
Project Supervisor Mr. Da Qi already in China and hold meetings with Project Technical Director Mr. Sonic Chen from Fujian.We anticipate that a production agreement on the project is expected to be signed shortly.
